For decades, the world has faced a frightening brain-wasting disease that includes some exceedingly anti-social symptoms!

Yet, survivors in an outpost in Australia uncover a nugget of hope: An obscurely-labelled, desiccated fragment from a compulsory bio-sample collection done in the early days of the plague. It suggests someone had faced the disease and fought it off – through immunity!

With time and resources at their lowest ebb, Dr. Rachel Morrison must lead a team into the wilderness to retrieve the unknown donor who hopefully has beaten fate by surviving for 25 years among the contaminated “Mealy-Mouths”.

A man or woman. Alive or dead. Who may have moved away long ago. A needle in a haystack. A dangerous haystack.

I'd like to think this zombie-type of story has above-average intelligence going for it, and if you're looking for a "this-meets-that" comparison, "Borroloola" might be a bit of "Aliens" going in, and "28 Weeks Later" coming out.

Set mostly in the exotic Australian outback.

Major Characters/Casting Possibilities:

Rachel, 5 and 30 years (two timelines)
Sam, 6 and 31

Accolades:

Dark Sci-Fi Finalist (Oregon Screams Horror Film Festival)
